Established in 1880 by Texas Ranger, Capt. Charles Schreiner, the Y.O. Ranch is one of oldest family-owned working ranches in Texas. It is home to the largest and most beautiful herd of Registered Texas Longhorns in the state. Over 60 species of exotic wildlife, like Giraffe, Wildebeest, Buffalo, Kudu, Scimitar-horned Oryx, Axis Deer, Fallow Deer and Ostrich roam this vast land and guests are given an opportunity on our wildlife tours to get up close to these animals and photograph them in their natural habitat. Or, they can enjoy the beauty of the Ranch on horseback. The Ranch also offers hunting year round. Our guest cabins, many of which are refurbished and authentic log cabins that are over 100 years old, will take you back to a time when life was much simpler. The Y.O. Ranch has been the site of numerous ads, TV shows and motion pictures.
