| Title | Civil War Era Plantation House and Period Gardens | ||||
| Description | This 1849 mansion saw action in the civil war. Several navy gunboat shells have been removed from it's walls over the years. This is a classicly styled plantation house that once grew cotton and sugarcane. It is located in a central louisiana, where the tax credits for filming are a great thing! The house was designed by famed New Orleans Architect Henry Howard in the mid 1840's. Around the house are 15 acres of field, and formal gardens, designed in the ancient style that was popular when the house was build. These amazing gardens offer citrus groves, pecan trees, shrubs, brick lined paths and more for the film maker. Nearby, less than 30 minutes away, are the luxury accomodations for film crews offered by the famous Paragon Resort of Louisiana. (Spa, pools, golfing, dining, movie cinemas and more!) | ||||
