| Title | Historic Country Inn in foothills of Blue Ridge Mountains in northeast Georgia | ||||
| Description | Glen-Ella Springs Inn was part of a 600 acre tract awarded to Glen and Ella Davidson as part of the Great Cherokee Land Give Away in the north Georgia area. Constructed in 1875, the 16 room inn under went a year long restoration process in 1987, leaving the original heart pine walls, floors and ceilings intact where possible as well as 2 of the original stacked stone fireplaces. The inn is situated on 17 acres in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. With 12 acres of wide open meadow and 5 acres of woods, the property is bordered by the Chattahoochee National Forest to include a creek along side the meadow. The inn was originally accessed by horse-drawn surry when guests were picked up and transported from the Tallulah Falls Railroad Station in Turnerville by then owner Glen Davidson. There are two roads leading to Glen-Ella Springs. One is roughly 3 miles of gravel road which is very scenic as it travels through the woods and fords a creek. The second is only 3/4 of a mile gravel, but travels down the rural countryside of north Georgia. The property has extensive herb and perennial flower gardens, garden shed, pool, pool deck, outdoor open air pavilion, private conference room as well as restaurant with private dining capabilities. Historic structures include, weathered log barn, original location of stone bath and sitting area where guests would partake of the "healing" spring waters, old well structure and of course the inn itself. There are numerous waterfalls, 5 crystal clear nearby lakes and mountain vistas all within 20 minutes of the property | ||||
